hi, i'm stella.
i work at OpenAI, to improve models for people
I am a product manager for OpenAI's research team.
I lead our work on model quality and core behavior, working with research teams across post-training and safety systems.
I've spent most of my career and academic efforts focused on innovation and governance suited to our era: one in which increasing globalization and the highest rate of migration in human history are coupled with new technologies that tug at our individual and social fabric. I hope to help it fortify, not fray.
my approach is multidisciplinary, informed by my time at Yale and D.E. Shaw
I've led full x-fctl teams to build loved experiences from 0-1 and at-scale across apps, marketplaces, hardware and operating systems at Google and LinkedIn.
At Yale I researched extremism and theories of self and State through dual B.A. in comparative literature and global affairs, with an emphasis on international security.
Prior to working in technology, I was a rotational associate at D.E. Shaw where I focused on systemic risk, macro investing, and online CS coursework with MIT.
i grew up in montana and speak multiple languages
I grew up in Missoula, Montana, which shaped my perspective on community and connection to place.
I speak Arabic, Spanish, French, and some Japanese.
